Dear RUNGRANVILLE member: I hope you had a great 2005 and you are looking forward to an even better 2006. Attached is a 2006 RUNGRANVILLE membership form. Also, is a rough draft I am working on for a summer cross-country series to be held at the Bryn Du grounds. A few changes were made - if you were a member last year and you re-up your membership this year - you can choose either a long sleeve or short sleeve RUNGRANVILLE t-shirt or a short sleeve Running Club of Licking County t-shirt. We also registered this name (Running Club of Licking County) as a number of runners from the Newark area asked for a broader name. Both names will still be under the umbrella of the Running Club of Granville. Plus, everyone who registers by April will also become a member of the Road Runners Club of America. We plan to register the club under this organization, as their insurance will cover clubs practices and races at Bryn Du. I hope you take a few minutes to look over both attached forms and send in your registration for the club as soon as possible so I can order shirts. I plan to have shirts by the end of the month for anyone who registers by February 14th. I will also have membership cards if you would like to stop by the Granville Village on Thursday February 23rd between 7:00 – 7:30 p.m. This will allow you to get a discount starting in March at a number of shoe stores. If you register and would like your t-shirt and membership card sent to you please include an addition $3. If you have any contacts with businesses that would like to offer the club members a discounts please contact them and let me know. I have the three running stores from last year on board again and Chuck at Whit’s said he would do something again. Also, we are looking for individuals to help with the summer cross-country series and moonlight runs during the year. I hope you will get involved to make the club better. A number of running club members are meeting by the water fountain and running at 7:00am on Saturday. Hopefully, we will have our first club meeting for 2006 on Thursday, March 23rd. Finally, I will be helping with the Arnold 5K Pump and Run and Arnold 5K on March 5th. The Pump and Run registration is closed, but if you would like to run the Arnold 5K I can give club members $5 off the pre-registration fee. So for $15 you can run the race and your race number gets you into the Arnold Fitness Expo that Sunday free ($10 value).
